Natural History museum sketches

I went on a trip to London yesterday with some of our  students. There wasn't much time but managed to sketch a little bit in the Natural History Museum.  The first place I can remember sketching when I was younger is the blue whale hall, and it would be a cool place to visit even if it didn't have memories attached.

The figures at the top of the sketch are carved on the pillars and you will have noticed them if you've ever visited. The figures at the bottom of the pillars look like identifiable monkey species, they even have expressions and a lot of them smile. They look more like miserable, grim little people the further you get to the ceiling.

Drabblecast illustration

The colours and the tree frog worked OK. Not too pleased with the figures as I found it difficult to give them enough detail , but I wanted the main focus on the forest rather than the characters. Annoying.

Lambs

Lambs at work. It is a good lunchtime when I get the chance to draw these guys. I'm moving to a different job in the near future, so I'm taking the opportunity to enjoy being in the country as much as I can.

Bears

I didn't go to Alaska. They're from an old ep of Natural World on Iplayer.

lamb

I've been moving house, so everything has been moved on to the back burner, but here's a picture of a lamb I did for work. They already have some vector artwork of different animals, so I tried to make it match. It's not detailed enough for me-and still too detailed to match the original style!

A Valentine's day present for my boyfriend.
