Sea of Corruption- Nausicaa fanart

I had an idea a while ago to draw fan art for a few of my favourite comics during quiet periods and decided to start with a heavy hitter. This is the first picture in what may become a series, from Nausicaa, the magnificent manga by Miyazaki, the"best graphic novel ever".

Nausicaa's glider is spotted high above the Sea of Corruption, a giant forest of fungi.

The animated film is not as deep as the comic and is based on only the first book of the manga (there are 4 or more depending which collection you choose) but the lovely colour environmental design compensates.

Assassin's Creed fan art

For my sister, for Christmas. She knows why.

SPACE!!

My sister LOVES the game Mass Effect, so I drew her this birthday card. There's a lot of mistakes: I haven't played the game and I suck at comic timing.
Her character looks like Barack Obama.

Zelda art

This is a gorgeous Zelda print Nicola Stewart sent me from the UK Comics Thing. I wanted to buy a card of this print (I really enjoyed playing Twilight Princess) and they were sold out by the time I got to her table, so she kindly posted me this. It's A3 and lovely. It's definitely going on my wall.
She has a rather cool sketchblog here

Oh dear.

This is an extremely geeky project: a Half-Life 2 fan comic. I'm usually too busy to play computer games but the ones I do play I get very attached to. I suspect I like Half-Life so much because I recently finished reading Y-The Last Man and then grafted the character dynamic of Yorick and 355 on to Alyx and Gordon.
For some reason, I also decided that Gordon is ginger.

I was impressed by how quickly these computer coloured greyscale pages can be produced. Maybe if I ever start a webcomic, this is a good way to go.

I call this sort of cover design a "Big Giant Head" cover.

mute nerd Jesus

I have a job now and am desperately trying to finish off paid illustration work, prepare for the UK Comics Thing and enjoy beautiful springtime Norfolk in one week before I start work.

Sometimes, when I'm busy with commissions,I like to draw something pointless to please myself in my spare time. I'm playing Half-Life 2 at the moment so ended up drawing a four page fan comic called" Gordon's Glasses".

Yay! Carpal tunnel syndrome!

Prince of Persia

I'm a big fan of the Prince of Persia game series and have just finished the most recent game. This is a sketch I decided to work up in Photoshop.

Mirror's Edge

My sister got the Xbox game Mirror's Edge for her birthday. I drew this while watching her play it.

Heroes sketches Season 3

I sometimes like drawing when watching TV. I'm not very good at caricatures and these are pretty embarrasing. Mind you, Heroes Season 3 is so daft it's pretty embarrasing.

stupid cartoons

Decided to work some sketches I drew while watching Heroes up for tone practice. These are pretty old.

Thundercats!

Got invited to an 80's party and coloured this tee shirt design for it (The original colours didn't go with my tights)

Assassin's Creed

Here's a couple of images from an Assassin's Creed comic I'm working on for Lifemeter. I'm practising my computer colouring and wanted something new for the Bristol Comic Expo. I didn't have time to come up with an original idea, so I wrote a three-page comic based on the game, because I loved it, particularly the environment design, and felt let down when it ended so abruptly.

daft daft daft

Some daft fanart I drew for Johane Matte's Avatar fan comic competition. I'm moving house/job at the moment, so pretty busy!...which accounted for the rather "minimalist" art style.
