Sagrada Familia-Barcelona

Some more sketches of Sagrada Familia. Drawing details of the sculpture was a bit of a cheat, but the building is so amazing that I couldn't have done it justice in the amount of time we had. These are the Crucifixion and  St. Peter (?), and Mary and  Joseph's marriage.

Parc Guell- Barcelona

Parc Guell, Barcelona. It was very busy and very touristy, but managed to do this quick sketch.

Sea of Corruption- Nausicaa fanart

I had an idea a while ago to draw fan art for a few of my favourite comics during quiet periods and decided to start with a heavy hitter. This is the first picture in what may become a series, from Nausicaa, the magnificent manga by Miyazaki, the"best graphic novel ever".

Nausicaa's glider is spotted high above the Sea of Corruption, a giant forest of fungi.

The animated film is not as deep as the comic and is based on only the first book of the manga (there are 4 or more depending which collection you choose) but the lovely colour environmental design compensates.

Drabblecast People's Choice Awards 2012

My illustration for "Little Grace and the House of Death"by Eugie Foster (which also won the award for Best Story) was nominated in the Drabblecast People's Choice awards 2012 but sadly didn't win :(

I never felt the illustration did the story justice (and realised after it was published that I managed to get the main character's hair colour wrong) but Eugie Foster* writes great stories and you can check out her website here

* She's also won a Nebula, so it's not just me who thinks she's cool.

orchid sketch

This is Orchid mk 2. Orchid mk 1. died when we went to Egypt and left it for our flatmate to water.
I'm trying to get into the habit of drawing our plants while they're alive as they don't tend to have a very long shelf life. Tips appreciated.
