Disclaimer: I don't actually like Christmas. Honestly.

Christmas Tree Festival

Fakenham, where I'm living at the moment, has a Christmas tree festival. Each tree is decorated by a charity. There are about fifty to seventy trees. The church smells amazing. I sketched in felt tip because of the vibrant colours but it was a bit of a mistake.

Links!

My computer is recovering.

Here is a very cool link- 20 Strange, Rare and Endangered animals. I have been looking at animal adoption adverts for Christmas presents. Most of the animals available are pretty mainstream. Ugly, strange and many-legged creatures need saving too.

Inner City cover

Tentative cover for rejected Manga Jiman project "Inner City" I think I'll leave it for a while and then have another play.

Storyboard

This is a storyboard for a scene in a short film pitch: Fuck You, Noreen.

I managed to delete my computer's hard drive half way through doing this. Recovery looks expensive. I am also still unemployed. Bah humbug.

Heroes sketches Season 3

I sometimes like drawing when watching TV. I'm not very good at caricatures and these are pretty embarrasing. Mind you, Heroes Season 3 is so daft it's pretty embarrasing.

The Chinese Gallery in the British Museum

I shudder to think how many sketchbooks filled with this sort of stuff I have. I can see five from where I am sitting.

British Museum sketch dump

Chinese statues from the British Museum. I like their almost cartoony style.
The statues at the bottom are a pair of celestial judges: the man is holding a list of sins; the woman is holding a list of good deeds. Bad deed/good deed ratio: about 5:1

vet illustrations

These are illustrations for a book about how to get into vet school. They're modular: the animals are on separate layers and can be used as spot illustrations

Murky Depths illustrationV2

The finished version! a bit too Photoshopped for me though!

Sketching at the church

I'm in Norfolk at the moment, "between jobs" so I did some sketching down the local church. It was FREEZING.

I am here to chew bubblegum and kick ass

The Siegfried Sassoon Band video I worked on ages ago up here:

The song is called "The Al Gore Rhythm"

I drew the parallel robot world version, and am show up by someone who know how to draw storyboards a lot better than me!

Rough for "Murky Depths" speculative fiction magazine illustration.

"Inner City" sample pages

Sample pages from the Manga Jiman project I'm working on. I'm worried about the quality of the story: I've finished fiddling with the art, but need to change some speech bubbles and frame layouts.

stupid cartoons

Decided to work some sketches I drew while watching Heroes up for tone practice. These are pretty old.
